What I’ll be performing here is a barbell
calf raise. You want to put a barbell behind the neck. What you want to do is stretch out
to your tippy toes, flex your calves, and then come back down and get a good stretch.
Flex up, back down for a good stretch. You want to continue this. I recommend high reps
for the calves. If you’re doing extremely heavy weight then you want to keep it low
reps of about 6-8, high reps about 10-15. You want to do about 3-4 sets. One thing you
want to make sure is that you concentrate on flexing the calf on top and getting a good
stretch on the bottom. If you want to you could point your calves towards each other
to work the outer area of the calves. Bring them all the way up. Good flex. Bring them
down for a good stretch. And that’s how you perform barbell calf raises.
