Reverse Gymnastics Challenge With Rebecca Zamolo + Shawn Johnson


– She was going though! – Hey everybody, welcome
back to our channel. I’m Shawn, and I’m here
with great friend, Rebecca. We are doing gymnastics today. We are doing a little fun, a little weird, we’re doing reverse gymnastics. – I’m nervous, I’ve seen
their Instagram videos, and they get like millions of views, and I always wanted to
know how they do it, so I get to find out today. – But before we get started, make sure you press the subscribe button and you go to Rebecca’s

holiday gymnastics challenge. I wonder who’s gonna win, me or Shawn? It’s gonna be really hard to decide. – I really think she is,
I really think she is. It’s so hard to film reverse, so it’s gonna take a lot of time, but we’re really excited,

what reverse gymnastics is you can check out our Instagram, we’ll post a video for you guys, but it’s making gymnastics look like it’s in real time, but it’s actually reversed. So like, if we wanna jump, we have to think about it, like backwards? – Yeah, so we do it backwards, but it looks like we’re doing it forwards. – Kinda like this real or fake thing. It takes a lot of thought process. We’ll walk you through it. – So the first one we’re gonna try is to make it look like we are jumping out of the pit onto the bar. – But, we’ll be on the bar going in, so we have to figure out how to make it look like we’re going in reverse. – Okay, so when you jump, you like, swing your arms, and throw your arms up, so you have to reverse it. So on the bar, you have
to start like this, jump with your arms up, and then land in the pit with your arms behind you. – Does that make sense? – So, yeah, yeah, yeah. So we have to end like this, but then be up in the air with our arms up. – Yes. – Land with our arms up. – Start, jump, land. – Okay. Oh, this is kinda scary. – This is pretty high. Okay, and we’re landing
with our arms behind us. Ready, three, two. Okay, wait, let me just
try it and see if I can. – [Shawn] It’s not a
soft pit, so be careful. – So we gotta go. – [Shawn] This is gonna
be harder than we thought. – [Rebecca] Yeah, definitely
harder than I thought. – [Andrew] You guys have the right idea – [Rebecca] I think we
need to go up more though. – [Shawn] Yours looks awesome. – [Rebecca] I was so scared. – [Man] Watch this. – One, two, three. – I didn’t land in the pit. – I landed way too forward. – I landed way too back I was like “Uh!” – [Rebecca] We got the beginning. – [Shawn] That pretty good though. – And my arms need to go straight down because even if I land back, if I go like that, it looks more real. We can get this, we got this. – Alright, I think that
was a pretty good take. – [Shawn] I kinda like that one. – You could strike like a superhero pose. – And then, we’re doing a
superhero pose jumping in. – Like this?
– Okay. When I land it’s like, the pain. – [Man] See, look how you guys are just floating out of the pit. I think it looks good, I
think that’s our best take. Do you guys wanna try another one? – Oh I put it here instead of up. – [Man] That’s being picky. I mean I could do it again. – [Man] Do one more! – Totally.
– Yeah. – Three, two, one. – Oh my goodness, that popped. – I twisted but I like went a little bit but I was like fighting it. I like that, that’s pretty cool. – [Andrew] I like that one a lot. – I’m down with that. – Perfect, good job girls. – The hardest thing about the bars was how we were doing it at the same time. – Yeah like coordinating
because you’re on a bar and it’s really wobbly and
it’s not easy to balance. – We’re shaking each other. – Yeah so when we put our feet
up, we throw each other off. – I think it’s good, it’s like Superwoman. – I think it looks so cool. – So hard to get out of the pit. – It’s a lot harder than you think it is. – First one done, next
one, onto the vault. – I think we’re gonna make
it look like we’re flipping onto the vault from the pit,
so we’re actually gonna be flipping backwards off
the vault into the pit. But how do you do arms? – If we do backflip, it’d be the same. – You have to land with your arms up. – Or land with your arms down and then go backflip and start here right? What if we go like this, if
we salute and then go down, because then it would
be like stick, salute, so if we’re here, we get some
momentum without it looking. – When you flip you have to somehow try to put your arms up before
you land and then down. – Salute, down, backflip
land with arms up. Three, two, one. – Oh, ooh. – [Rebecca] I just, I don’t know if we can bring our arms back, like
we should just bring them to our hips in the beginning. – [Andrew] That was really good. – But it looks so cool. Go from here down, is it hard? – Can you guys land on your backs? It’s almost like an ultimate crunch. – Kind of how we get our six pack abs. – Can you do it like this actually? – That might be easier. Let’s go here, so salute, here, go. Wanna try it? Okay. – Dusty. – I think my backflip
just went straight down. – [Shawn] Wanna try one more? I over rotated too much. – The pressure. – I know. – [Andrew] That one looks
good, yeah I like that a lot. – We nailed that one. – They won’t know how hard it is to replicate that movement backwards. – No idea, they’re gonna be
like your butt’s sticking out and we’re like no, we had to
sit, that was really hard. – Okay same thing but beam? – I’m down. – Okay let’s do it. It’s so dusty in there guys. This one’s gonna be harder. – [Andrew] What are you guys doing? – We’re gonna try do the
same thing from the vault, so like back tucks off
the beam onto the mat but instead of over rotating into a pit, we’re gonna actually try to land it so it looks like we’re
mounting onto the beam. – Easy, for an Olympian. – Actually you know how
you can do a back tuck and almost run backwards? – So after I go and I’m
like oh God, I made it, I’m so happy, just run
backwards, that sounds amazing. I’m glad I got the beam
with the pads on the side. – Actually go here and
can you just stand up? – Yeah, so we can just go, go. – Because if you’re
mounting it’s like this. – I’m gonna be like. I’m scared. – Me too. – Wait, is this a good idea? – Okay you want to try to jump
off first for the landing? – A roundoff? – Yeah. – [Andrew] I mean it look sweet. – What if we run into it,
like run backwards out of it. – Could you even like land and run back so it’s almost like you’re jumping? – Yeah so we land, punch, run back. – Yeah like rebound. – You got it? – Yeah. – Okay three, two, one. – I went sideways, but. – [Andrew] You’re running
with your arms straight up. – [Shawn] Oh yeah true. Can you rebound and run back? – I kind of like the fast after. – But we’d have to. – Just bring them down, so after
you punch, bring them down? Punch and then go like this,
it would have to be here. Okay. – Is this a mount that’s never been done before in gymnastics? – Yeah. – Like a front. – No, no. – [Cameraman] Especially with pads. – Because they would have a springboard or they would do a front
handspring, not like a cartwheel. – A branny. – Who’s branny? – Or like an aerial to two feet, like landing two feet, would that? – [Andrew] You know
what I’m saying because. – I mean people do that, but. – Who knows what a branny is? Not me. – A branny is an aerial,
an aerial is a cartwheel without hands and you know how a cartwheel is like stepped out, a branny is two feet. My legs gave out on me. – I started. – It’s gonna look great. – I went like this though. By the way this is gymnastics. – Look at, it’s actually pretty good. – It’s so hard. – Two, one. – I stay forward because I’m
like oh my gosh, I’m gonna. – Oh, yeah. It looks like a hurdle. – That’s pretty good, no one would know. – Set. – I twisted, I did a cartwheel. – [Shawn] That looks sick though. – [Andrew] Wow, Rebecca’s looks. – [Rebecca] It’s because I got so nervous, I was like, I don’t know where I am. – [Andrew] That’s cool movement. – [Cameraman] Yeah it’s really cool. – This makes me really nervous guys. – Okay, three, two, one. It’s so much harder than you guys think. Three, two, one. – Oh I messed up. I walked backwards. – That’s hard. Three, two, one. – I like that one a lot. It looks sweet because
it’s such a huge jump and it’s like wow, you could
never do that in real life. – Wait go all the way to the finish. – Did we salute? Yeah,
we just kind of sit. – Nice. – [Andrew] Do you like it? – I like it. – I’m good with that, I feel
like that’s pretty good. – It’s a sweet mount in reverse. – It’s just a cartwheel. – I like it, it looks good. Is that good enough for posting? – Okay. That was great. – [Andrew] What’s the last one? – Okay for the last one,
we’re gonna jump off kind of like we did on the
truck, like it looks like we’re jumping onto a truck,
but we’re gonna make it look like we’re jumping onto the high bar. – Sounds easy, sounds amazing. – This one, it’s just like the first one, you have to start with your arms out, jump with your arms up and
land with your arms back. – End up back, okay, so we just
have to get mats pulled in. – Very soft mats. – Day, dare, pullover. – Okay, I got it now, I needed one. I was like so scared. Like I don’t know landings. – [Andrew] Pretty impressive
to go from sitting to jumping. – Oh that like. – I was too afraid I went like this, no. – So you’re here and you want here. – Yeah like up, slide. – I got this, I just have to
match Shawn and we’re good. So easy, it’s really easy. – Freaking pullovers. – Dang I messed up, I lost
my balance on the bar. – Oh that was close though. – Did you see me lose my footing so I couldn’t push up, I wasn’t on top. – This is gonna look sweet. – Okay. – I’m a lot of load. – Me too. – Nice. – I fell, but I tried. – You didn’t get it? – I was on Snapchat, I was on Snapchat. – That’s okay, we got
this, this is nothing, I’m putting you in a
Santa, Mrs. Claus outfit. I almost made her fall. – Oh no I have the giggles, uh oh. – Okay that was really hard. Three, two. I think I had one arm come
out but I pulled it in. – It’s almost perfect, we can use that. – It’s just my arms come back. – Put your foot up or you’ll fall. Three, two, one. Three, two, one. – Are you okay? – My foot actually
slipped I was just like, I’m just gonna go to this
easy position don’t worry. I am such a baby, I
know how to fall sadly. – That scared me though. – Watch where my arms go, up to my ears. I’m just happy I can still do a pullover. – Me too, I was kind of nervous at first. – Me too I was like this is gonna be awkward if I can’t get up. – Same. – Three, two, one. – Okay guys, that was exhausting, that takes so much more
effort than you think, to make everything look like it’s real. – It’s so much thought to think about how to do gymnastics in reverse. – And a lot of fails. – But a lot of fun, yeah I failed a lot. – Make sure you go to Rebecca’s channel, we’ll link it to watch our
