Pilates Band Workout



hi my name is Lucy Knight and welcome to my program Pilates band flautist was originally created during the first world war by Joseph Pilates and it's been producing some great results ever since Pilates works us from the inside out by strengthening the corset like muscles we have around our middle it's by maintaining this contraction and then challenging it with movement that we increase our strength tone flexibility and coordination inhale lift to shoulder height exhale all the way up inhale lower halfway and exhale all the way down if you're following tit then you're going to carry on and do four more exactly the same or if you want to we're going to make it a bit more difficult here so inhale and raise your arms all the way up and exhale as you lower them behind your back okay just place the ball of the foot into the center of the band now and extend your left leg away from you if you are following tit then keep your right knee slightly bent here just take a deep breath in here and as you breathe out just pull the band towards you increasing the stretch of the back of the leg just hold it here for a moment breathing normally okay place the band in your left hand now and take your right arm out to the side exhale as you lengthen over to the left side inhale and come Center and exhale lower the arms again inhale and lift exhale extend inhale lower the forearm and exhale lower the elbow inhale lifting the elbow and exhale making sure everything else is staying still here inhale lift up and exhale pull down two more now lift and pulling down last time lift
