Confidence isn’t gained over time of practice. It’s like, confidence is gained when you realize that you choose your own path. You choose to fall, you choose not to fall. You can’t climb the ladder of success with your hands in your pockets. Don’t listen to the naysayers. I mean how many times have you heard that you can’t do this And you can’t do that and it’s never been done before? Pay no attention to the people that say it can’t be done. The most important rule of all : Work Your Butt Off. You never want to fail because you didn’t work hard enough. Mohammed Ali, when he was asked: “How many sit-ups do you do?” He said, “I don’t count my sit-ups. I only start counting when it starts hurting. When I feel pain That’s when I start counting, because that’s when it really counts.” That’s what makes you a champion. That’s the way it is with everything I think a lot of people, they see you run and they say: Oh, it look so easy. It really looks effortless. But, before it gets to that point day in, day out sacrifice, day in, day out… just dying. There is time when you run and you just want to stop. You just want to give up, say, to hell with this.
I just want to go home. The day when you get up and you know you have a training today You know it’s going to be intense, like, “Oh, God! I don’t want to go today, but you’ve got to go.” And it’s so hard, a lot of people don’t know. It’s no secret You fall down, you stumble You get pushed, you land square on your face But every time that happens you get back on your feet You get up just as fast as you can No matter how many times you need to do it. They say to me, “What is the secret to success?” The first rule is: Trust yourself That you have to dig deep down, dig deep down And ask yourselves, who do you want to be? Not what, but who. Success has been and continues to be defined As getting up one more time Than you’ve been knocked down. I’m talking about figuring out for yourselves what makes you happy No matter how crazy it may sound to the people. So rule number one is trust yourself No matter how and what anyone else thinks. It’s up to you to puff up your chest, stretch your neck And overcome all the difficult. At the end of the day Success is what we all want We all wanna win ! Now go out there and take it ! You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life But it ain’t about how hard you hit It’s about how hard you can get hit, and keep moving forward How much you can take, and keep moving forward That’s how winning is done ! There are no magical fixes, it’s all up to you So get up off your keister, get out of here and go start doing the work. When you want to succeed, as bad as you wanna breathe Then you’ll be successful. Don’t cry to quit, Cry to keep going. You’re already in pain, you’re already hurt, get a reward from it. Don’t go to sleep until you succeed. If you’re afraid to fall, you fall because you’re afraid. Everything is choice. Batiatus, once, warned me That a man must accept his fate Or be destroyed by it. Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. It’s a very mean and nasty place and I don’t care how tough you are, It will beat you to your knees And keep you there permanently if you let it. No Pain, No Gain. And if you want to win, There is absolutely no way around hard, hard work. Never give in, never give in Never, never, never. In nothing, great or small, large or petty Never give in, except to convictions of honour and good sense. You want something? Go get it. Period. We have fought for the choice to forge our own path. Work hard and you can have whatever it is that you want. I got to commit my very being to this thing. I got to breath it, eat it, sleep it. And until you get there, you’ll never be successful in life. But once you get there, I guarantee you the world is yours. This is where we hold them! We have shown them, that a trembling hand can become a fist. We have challenged the idea That a slave must always know his place, Accepting rod and lash because he was taught to accept it. Pain is temporary. It may last for a minute, or an hour, or a day, or even a year. But eventually it will subside And something else will take it’s place. If I quit however, it will last forever. This is where we fight! Now, if you know what you’re worth, then go out and get what you’re worth. But you gotta be willing to take the hit, And not pointing fingers saying You ain’t where you are because of him, or her, or anybody! Cowards do that and that ain’t you! You’re better than that!!!
