Dealing with Stress Eating


“I tend to stress during academic
exams. What can I do to keep losing or at least not gain fat during my December
exams?” There’s a great Bob Newhart thing and it was on I think In Living
Color where the people would come in and he could lean over and go, “Stop it!” and that
was all his advice but what if… “Stop it!”
so Hy I gotta tell you, stop it. Stop stress-eating. Stop it.
Obviously you you’re gonna have to set up a system of some kind and set it up
now where you have you know if you’re going to snack you’re in have
intelligent snack options. Celery with peanut butter, apples, sliced apples
you know pre slice the apples, pre open the oranges, chop some vegetables up so
you’re shoveling that kind of stuff when you’re stressed out. You know
drink more water. Try not to use things like I understand
the college kids today they you know pop certain kinds of pills. Much more deadly
than caffeine. Try to avoiding that kind of stuff or do what I used to do. I used
to cram for my exams about three weeks before. I would have, I would pull an
all-nighter weeks before the classes came up and then what that allowed
me to do as the weeks got closer, all nighter is an exaggeration, but but as
the week closer, all I did was review, review, review. When I came in pretty
fresh. You’re gonna have to work on the stress thing though. It’s not a good
habit to get yourself in but, so two bits of advice. One Bob Newhart,
“Stop it!” Number two, put together a system, put together a plan.
