Chest & Back Exercises: Upper Body Workout : Dumbell Incline Bench Press for Your Chest Workout


Now, I’m going to show you how to properly
perform a bench press using the incline bench and dumbbells. Grab the weight so it’s comfortable
for you. Lean back on the bench. A 45-degree angle should be just fine. Again, relax, keep
your head back, keep your back straight on the bench. It’s very important that your feet
are planted firmly on the floor–that’s going to help you with your balance. What you don’t
want to do, when you do these exercises, is wriggle your feet. What that’s going to do
is take away from your balance and the exercise becomes ineffective. Okay, I’m going to demonstrate
this for you. So what you want to do is begin from here. You just want to push that straight
up. Straight up and down. Begin here…stabilizes the chest. Try to do this without arching
the back…and here. Straight up and down…make sure you’re breathing normally. Another variation
of this exercise is to bring the weight out and come out into a fly. This is going to
work the upper portion of your pecs, your chest muscles. Come out here…Again, when
you’re doing flies, it’s very important not to extend past center. It puts a lot of stress
on your shoulder joints and you will injure yourself. So again, start here…and come
on up. Your neck–again, make sure that your spine, your back is pressed into the bench.
Don’t arch your back. Don’t move your feet. Keep your core nice and strong. And there
you go, that’s a bench press using an incline bench and dumbbells.

  5. you really shouldn't give advice when you've no clue what you're talking about. Low weight for chest?! 5lbs for 40 reps?!!? WTF. Keep the weight as heavy as possible, 3-5 sets of 6-12 reps! 5lbs… lol

    When making instructional videos all instructors kick it back a notch to ensure they are not teaching bad habits, or bad form. Both lead to injury.

  14. @Axekura yeah its good for doing it flat but i need something that will support me at 45 degrees so i can do the inclined one.

  15. @TheGreatVice as heavy as you can go while still maintaining proper form and not too many/few reps as well

  16. The angle is too steep. Use 30 degees also whilst doing the incline dumbell press brine weight lower to chest.
    And try bigger weights. what were those 10 kg?

    I do a warm up set of ~12 reps, (this warm up set is supposed to be easy)
    then follow I with

    10, 8 ,6, 8 (these sets I try to burn out by the 2nd to last, to last rep)

    and I increase/decrease the weight to fit these amount of reps.

  18. can someone help me- I have done many exercises for chest but unfortunately my chest didn't form a good way. can someone please advise exactly what exercises I have to do in order to shape my "boobs" properly. Please note I'm a bloke 🙂

  19. @billyblackburn87 had the same problem. Just take a piece of wood and put diagonical to your bed and floor. Else you can just make pushups with your feet on a chair or a bed. Has the same effect.

  20. @taylorgang1223 no, it's not. It's actually harder to dumbbell press because there is more stabilizing involved.
